A “hinge unit” with a Gold Spring. A useful spare part to have with you on the slopes just in case you have a cable failure. The Bare unit can be swapped for the Failed unit in the same way that when you have a puncture on a car, you change the wheel rather than changing the tyre.

    Love these things! I have had both knees replaced in the past four years and wouldn't be able to ski without them.
