The total weight of the whole kit is 1.7Kg. It fits easily into your luggage, boot bag or ski bag.

We offer a branded backpack designed to fit your the 'legs' & harness to keep it all together for easy transport.
When you are skiing the Ski Mojo is supporting some 30% of your weight, increasing your weight to strength ratio, yet it's very light weight to wear.

Where is the Ski Mojo made?

The Ski Mojo exoskeleton is made in France. It was originally designed by a British engineer, to solve his own physical limitations and was then honed to be commercially available to bring joy and snow sports memories back to Alpine & Telemark Skiers and Snowboarders everywhere. Further R&D was done in the early 2020's in France to further improve components & study the science of how it's technonolgy helps users.

Will it improve my fitness?

Going to altitude for those that don't live in the alps, requires altitude aclimatisation & snow sports use a lot of energy where the air is thin. Wearing the Ski Mojo instantly adds approximately 30% strength to your physical ability & endurance, so you can ski longer during a day, meaning longer between rest stops on each run, and day after day, week after week. By reducing wear & tear on your healthy joints, or protecting existing or healed injuries, it also extends one's ski life so you can continue snow holidays with your loved ones and friends that you might otherwise be too unfit, too tired, too injured or lacking the confidence to undertake. We all want to spend more time on the slopes, once you are there, the Ski Mojo will extend your ability to ski comfortably, & for longer.

Can I wear a Ski Mojo with touring skis?

Yes, for the ski descent simply flick the switches at the top of each leg section to engage the spring the same way you do for boarding or downhill alpine skiing . For the touring (climb) part either disengage the spring and walk along as you would normally, or click the leg sections off entirely if preferred and carry them in a back pack. Ski Mojo produce and sell back packs which fit the unit, great for touring skiers, and all snow sports travellers .

I am a Ski Racer. Is the Ski Mojo suitable for me?

Ski Mojo augments your skiing so it cannot be worn when racing, so those in training should practice the way they race, without the augmentation.  However, injury is part of an athlete's lot, and the exoskeleton is ideal when athletes are returning to the slopes from an injury lay off period.

More former racers are discovering the beneficial features of Ski Mojo to reclaim their joy of skiing when old injuries may be preventing them from skiing the way they would like to, and some whose injuries have prevented them from getting on the snow at all, now have the ability to do so by wearing the Mojo. Of course, recreational skiers and boarders get the same benefits too.

I am a Ski Instructor, Race Coach or Ski Patroller. Is the Ski Mojo suitable for me?

Professionals on the snow are adopting the Ski Mojo more and more in Europe as a preventative measure to prolong their careers and avoid the wear and tear on their bodies of long days & long seasons on the piste. For Instructors and Patrollers, more and more treat this as part of their kit, & are predominantly wearing their Mojo's under their uniform trousers so no one would even be aware.

FITTING QUESTIONS

How long does it take to fit the Ski Mojo?

The day to day fitting and removing the mojo takes a couple of minutes.Simply put it on in your room  before you put on your ski trousers (see fitting instructions for how to do this) then pull your ski trousers over the top and head down to the boot room to put on your ski boots. If wearing it over your ski pants, pop it on in the ski room just before putting on your ski boots. Once your ski boots are on then it’s a simple case of connecting the ski~mojos to the attachments on your ski boots.

The initial fitting at time of purchase takes about 30 minutes for the initial setting/adjustments as per the User Guide. Only one tool is required, a small Allen key supplied with the kit. Pop this in the cloth bag included with the kit so you easily retain this for any adjustments in the future.

Do I need any tools to fit the Ski Mojo?

The only tool that is required is a small Allen Key that you receive with the kit. adjusts the calibration of the spring tension to suit your precise weight. If you weight changes, it takes seconds to adjust the spring. You can also ensure that the clasps keeping the telescopic height adjusters are at the correct setting and tighten the clasp if needed with the same key. Keep this with your exoskeleton for future possible adjustments over time.

Will it fit under my ski trousers?

The ski~mojo should fit comfortably under most ski & snow boarders trousers & shell pants. Tight-fitting “racing style” ski pants or trousers that are tight around the hips or knees will require the device to be worn on the outside of the pants,

What do I need to put on my ski boots?

There is a temporary clamp for each boot that screws on the back of the shell of the boot.

Once you are happy with the positioning, ideally you should fit the ball joint boot fittings provided permanently:- Drill a hole through the boot where the temporary attachment was clamped on, and then screw it on the ball joint fitting permanently to the boot using the Allen Key and a spanner (or pliers) to permanently fix the attachment. This permanent fitting is recommended for ongoing use with your own boots.

We strongly recommend that you do not fit the attachments permanently until you have tested the set-up with the attachment clamped in position to start with, this way you are able to fine tune the position of the attachments, if required before committing to the permanent position.

Can I use the Ski~Mojo on hire boots?

Yes, two boot fittings are supplied with the kit, a temporary U shape fitting which is screwed onto the rear cuff of the boot shell, and a permanent ball joint set for use on your own boots (to be drilled into position). The temporary boot clips can therefore clamped to the hire boot and then removed at the end of the hire period without causing any damage to the ski boot. The temporary clip is great if you are travelling overseas and only skiing for a few days without taking your own ski equipment with you.

What do I do if I change my ski boots?

This is not a problem; simply remove the attachments from your old boots and re-fit on to your new boots.

Does the Ski Mojo come in different sizes?

The ski~mojo is one unit that has features to allow it to be custom fitted to all size skiers and snow boarders. It works whether you are tall, short or in between. It works for snow sports enthusiasts from 45kg up to 120kg.

Height is personalized via telescopic adjustments to fit your legs; one to adjust for the length of your upper leg, another for the lower leg. The Posture-Strap and Knee-Supports have Velcro adjustment so you easily adjust it to the correct setting for you around your hips.

There are 3 standard strength springs. The strength you select relates to your weight so choose the one appropriate to you weight.
Gold springs: suits snow sports participants weighing 75Kg to 120Kg
Silver springs: suits snow sports participants weighing 55Kg to 85 Kg.
Blue springs: suits snow sports participants weighing 45kg to 55Kg (this product is imported by request only)

Will it make me ski faster?

You determine the pace you want to go.  The Ski~Mojo itself will not make you ski or board faster. However, by taking fewer breaks and being more precise on your skis, you can fully enjoy your days, maximizing your ride time with more intense enjoyment.

Will I feel the Ski Mojo?

Once properly adjusted, it is quickly forgotten. After using it for a time, you will likely only be aware if you forget to engage it before heading down the slope, and will miss the extra comfort, protection and energy it provides!

I'm injured, but have been toughing it out. When is the right time?

The right time is now. Ski Mojo is designed to (and thousands of users report it) helps absorb the shock of lumps, bumps, ice chattering, hockey stops & sudden turns, mogul skiing, long runs, deep snow, & all day skiing. Using it will reduce wear and tear that occurs over time whether you feel fit and healthy, or already have a niggling issue or are suffering from pain or injury. There is now no reason to wait until you are injured, and every reason to try to avoid one. If you are suffering knee, hip, lower back issues, thigh dysfunction,  premature fatigue & need an extra fitness boost ... or combinations of the above .... this is a game changer. If you have an injury already, or want more exhilaration out of your time on snow, the answer remains the same. Why wait until you become worse?

Going Skiing Overseas?

Australian passport holders may be able to obtain a GST refund at the airport by taking their new Ski Mojo with invoice to the refund counter in the customs hall . Check current government rules around this including time of purchase, invoice presentation requirements etc well before jetting away.

WEARING THE SKI~MOJO

How do I go to the loo?

You will already have clicked the switch to release the spring resistance on each leg to walk about. So simply release the top of the Mojo 'leg' from the elastic groin straps (harness) by pressing down on the brass lever there. This releases the top of the leg leg section which will slide out easily. You can then lower your trousers as normal.
When ready reverse the procedure to re-attach by sliding the top of the 'leg' section into the keeper to reattach (as you would when kitting up each morning).

Can I use it with my knee brace?

The Ski Mojo fits over most knee braces depending on how bulky they are. You can therefore try using the Ski Mojo with or without the brace to see if you still wish to use the brace but it's entirely likely you will want the Mojo only, without the restrictive brace. The choice is up to you.

How do I get on the ski lift and sit down for lunch?

The ski~mojo can be switched on and off with the flick of a switch (actually two switches – one on each leg); you should always switch both switches on or off. i.e. don’t walk around or ski with one leg switched on and one switched off.
Whenever you take your skis off you should turn off the ski~mojo so you can then move around freely. With the ski~mojo switched off you can sit down, drive a car (take your ski boots off too!) and get on the ski lifts, in fact do almost everything as though the ski~mojo was not there.

The only time you really need to switch the ski~mojo off while you have you skis on, is before you ride a chair lift. Switch off while queuing for the chairlift, get on the chairlift as normal. If you forget to switch off before you get on a chair lift you may find riding the lift uncomfortable as your legs will be being pushed straight, simply switch off then, if you can, fully straighten your legs and the mojos will disengage.

Can I walk normally while wearing it?

Yes. See response to “How do I get on the ski lift and sit down for lunch”. All you need to do is disengage the ski~mojo by fully straightening your legs to turn off the spring, then you can walk as normal. It is like you have not got it on.

Can I drive in it?

Yes, just disengage the spring in your ski~mojo and drive as normal. Just ensure that the ski~mojo neoprene Knee-Support straps are reasonably tight so there is no risk of it slipping down while driving (and make sure that you’re not wearing your ski boots).

How do I switch it on and off?

There is a switch down the side of each thigh. It is located at the point your hand will naturally fall at when straight at your side. To turn the ski~mojo on/off just flick the switch on each leg, fully straighten your leg(s) & the ski~mojo will switch on or off, depending on what you selected. It becomes an automatic action you will do once you have been wearing the device for a short time.

Can I wear it outside my ski wear?

You can choose to wear your exoskeleton either over or under your ski pants, your choice will be determined by personal choice, ie space under your ski pants and 'fashion' preference.

The switch to engage/disengage the spring can be activated under your pants for those that wear it 'invisibly' under their outter wear.

If you wear it over your pants, you'll take your exoskeleton off first and pants second, if you wear it under your ski trousers the trousers come off first at the end of the day on the slopes.
